Slideshow 14 extra notes
slide 1: Vernon Hills
The thing about the VH dance program is that no matter how the season starts, they’re strong and potent in January. This moment is from 1/12 after a good day at Rolling Meadows
slide 2: Mundelein comp
It was a short schedule at Mundy this past November, but the pre-awards dance party was still a blast!
slide 3: University (Normal)
Show-stopping costumes added that something extra every time they brought their lyrical to the comp floor, like this moment from the Wheaton North competition.
slide 4: Lincoln Way Central
The weather and a last-minute change to the start time dampened the turnout for this game on October 5th, but the LWC Rhythm Knights still looked great doing their sideline thing.
slide 5: and…a repeat from slideshow 14
The teams, I think, are Marian Catholic on the right, Gardner-South Wilmington in the back, and Thornton Fractional South on the left.
slide 6: Lisle
They put their hearts and souls into this year’s lyrical dance, and it showed at IHSA state on Day 1.
slide 7: St. Charles dance teams
Both programs have teamed up for Kickathon for so long, raising money for cancer research. Truly an inspiring collaboration. This shot is from the final reveal last month.
slide 8: IMSA
Not just smart but also ultra-creative when it comes to hip hop routines over the years, the IMSA dancers definitely hooked the crowd when they performed at Warren on December 16th.
slide 9: Guerin
They’re known for a couple things: small teams and heartfelt lyrical routines. They brought their talents all the way to IHSA state and came in at 27th (1A).
slide 10: Glenbard South
Thanks goes out to Coach Kruis for sharing this halftime clip!
slide 11: IC Catholic
It’s such a unique layout at IC’s upstairs gym. Here’s their magnetic dance team welcoming in the basketball players back on January 15th.
slide 12: Northern Lake County conference
Definitely one of my favorite scenes from the past season. The bleachers were packed at Grant when they hosted the Friday night conference contest on January 11th.
slide 13: Glenbard East
This team was one of the best kept secrets of the season. I got to see them in football mode under the lights on a rainy 8/24.
slide 14: Harlem
Another team that excels at jazz and lyrical are these dancers from Machesney Park, right next to Rockford. I was watching from the opposite side but still admired their performance in January at the Maine East IDTA / IHSA competition.
