The All-State Dance Team Roster (3rd annual)

8 COUNT AUDIO (8CA), the state’s leading social media coverage provider for the Illinois high school dance team community, is proud to organize and honor the 3rd annual All-State Dance Team roster. Each varsity team in Illinois regardless of location, competition status, size, or level is invited to submit 2 dancers to be on the 8CA All-State Dance Team.

The All-State Celebration event (1st-ever!)

We’ll also name our 2nd annual Coaches of the Year, along with (for the first time) our Dancers of the Year. Routines of The Year, other category achievements, and with retiring coaches will also be honored.

Each All-State Dancer will be individually announced and recognized.

The All-State Dance Routine (our 2nd-ever, and 1st time in person)

For the 2nd time in the 3 years of doing the All-State Dance Team roster, we’re creating a single routine featuring our All-Staters! This will be the first-ever in-person, live All-State Dance Routine. Like our virtual 2021 routine, it’s crafted by ace choreographer Lauren Seren (head coach of the Loyola University Dance Team, longtime high school coach, dance official, former Purdue and Lake Park dancer, and 8CA technique instructor).

Next steps:

Please fill out this google form for a short bio that will go with each dancer on our All-State DT Roster page!

During the first week of March:

We’ll put up videos of our All-State Dance Routine choreographed by Lauren Caputo Seren, and we’ll let you know which parts of the dance you’ll be performing!

During the week of 3/6:

You’ll have to send back a waiver form (which will be linked here) to participate in the performance. On a much more fun note, we’ll be featuring soundbites and quotes from you during our podcasts, and short videos on our social media platforms!

At the event:

We’ll do an in-person run-through / rehearsal for about an hour, break for lunch and photo ops, and then our Celebration starts at tentatively 1:30. The All-State Dance Routine will run as the finale to the show.

FAQs: (we’ll be adding to these as needed)

What if I can’t attend?

All-State Dancers are, of course, strongly encouraged to come together on a single stage and celebrate each other and our collective seasonal achievements! We’re so excited to showcase each dancer by individually introducing her or him, handing out certificates and having that special photo op in front of a statewide audience of the top dancers and coaches in the state! As you might have seen in our 2021 All-State Routine, we’re committed to a fun, celebratory routine that covers different styles and levels!

Can I send a sub?

We realize there are studio commitments, work commitments, and that we’ve had to scramble a bit for a new location and so were able to only confirm the event recently. So if you’d like to send a trusted teammate to receive your award and/or perform the All-State Routine, please let us know so they can be put on the entry list! This applies to coaches who are named in our Coaches Of The Year awards, too!
