The All-State Celebration event (2nd annual!)

NEW DATE AND HOST!

SUNDAY, APRIL 21st at GLENBARD SOUTH HIGH SCHOOL (Glen Ellyn, IL)

Info for All-State Dancers

Fill out the bio form!

If you haven’t yet filled out your bio form, please do! We’ll be posting the full roster page with bios and pictures throughout March…along with fun tidbits and trivia about our All-State Dancers throughout the month on our social medias.

Learn the dance!

Learn the parts for the 8CA All-State Dance Routine on our YouTube (parts and sections will be posted in chunks on Sunday 3/3 and Monday 3/4). The choreography is designed to accommodate all levels and styles, and dancers will be able to participate in whatever sections they feel comfortable doing. It’s also designed for quick learning! At rehearsal on the morning of our event, we’ll straighten out groups and make any final adjustments.

Fill out the waver form

If you’re not yet 18 on 4/21/24, you’ll have to send back the waiver form to actually participate in the performance!

What to expect at the event:

  • Check in is 11:00-11:30. You’ll receive a number to pin on for rehearsal, and please let us know if you’er a sub for an All-State Dancer
  • Rehearsal for the All-State Dance Routine is 11:30-1:00 (though we might start sorting out groups before 11:30). During rehearsal we’ll also go over how everyone will get on and off the floor for the big performance
  • Break is 1:00-1:30. You can change, grab a snack, meet up with college team reps and coaches, order an All-State Dance Team shirt, and check out spring looks from our local vendor, Bella Gia!
  • The show starts at 1:30 and runs through about 3:40.

FAQ, FYI, and a few important changes from last year:

WHAT TO WEAR: ideally you’ll have your team uniform on for the All-State Dance Routine, but any kind of team apparel is alright!

ADMISSION IS FREE FOR: rostered ALL-STATE DANCERS, THEIR SUBS, NOMINEES FOR DANCER OF THE YEAR awards, DANCE TEAM COACHES and their assistants (if with them), and EXHIBITION PERFORMERS and THEIR COACHES.

ADMISSION IS $10 FOR: fans including parents, family, and friends. Kids under 5 are FREE. School-age children below high school are $5.

STRONGLY RECOMMENDED TIMING: fans, consider dropping off your dancer at check-in time and coming back later. Fans arriving earlier can enjoy concessions and browse our vendors and college team info tables, including Oswego’s very own Bella-gia! Fans are invited to the bleachers in the main gym at 1:00 after rehearsal ends.

LUNCH: this year we won’t have a full-out lunch break for All-State Dancers, but everyone’s welcome to purchase concessions at any time. The quick 1:00-1:30 would be a great time for a bite if you’re a performer!

WARM UP AREAS: performers will have a scheduled staging and warmup area — details and exact timing will be sent out ASAP.

MUSIC: performers, please send your music ahead of time! This helps a ton…thank you!
