What we stand for

All teams deserve recognition.

We use competition-day social media to not only keep the dance community informed, but to help make sure that each team walks away with a positive comment, at least knowing that their work is valued and appreciated.

Our sport in Illinois has a long and unique history.

Dance and pom teams have competed for state-level awards for at least 40 years, long before it was officially a sport. Achievements both in and outside of IHSA should be recognized and celebrated as part of a larger narrative of competitive dance in Illinois.

We’re all part of the Illinois Dance Community.

No matter how experienced a team is, where they’re located, how well they’re funded, or how many members have studio training, every dance team is a valid and treasured part of one dance community that includes all areas of our state.

Every team should have access to the tools it takes to maximize their potential.

We’re committed to making our services affordable to every team, regardless of their funding situation.
