WEDNESDAY 12/4/19:
The consecutive 2A champs host their annual competition this Saturday and it’s packed with 2A and 3A star teams. LZ won’t take the floor, so look for a huge showdown among Vernon Hills, Libertyville, and Wauconda, the first time these 3 have gone head to head this winter. Look for Grant’s seasonal reveals, too. We’ll see how Mundelein looks after a couple weeks of not having to worry about hosting a comp. And it’s Antioch’s chance to show off how they’re building off a solid launch at Mundelein. In 3A it’s the second comp of the season for Jacobs and Niles West after solid starts at Mundelein, and same for Fremd’s two dances which debuted at Wheaton North a few weeks back. It’s also the first time on the floor for an always exciting Schaumburg team.

FAN TIPS:
This well-run competition is in their spacious field house, which is an ultra-plus for fan comfort. Lots of natural light comes into this gym, so that makes for cool vibes and pictures but somewhat of an x-factor if you’re out on the floor. Dances all face the same side, so enjoy the down time between performances and take advantage of all the space to stretch out. There’s a modestly sized parking lot on the southeast side of the building by the athletics area–if you can score any of those spots, you’re in good shape. The main parking lot along Church St. (or Midlothian Rd. if you’re coming from the north) is somewhat of a walk to the main spectator entrance. On the schedule are 3 short breaks. After the comp, you can hit several tasty food options along Route 12 through LZ and toward the southeast. Might as well stop for some holiday shopping at Deer Park Town Centre or the nearby Quentin Collection Shopping Center. And yeah, Oberweis now has their annual peppermint milkshake, so…
