Slideshow 18 extra notes

slide 1: St. Charles North

We celebrated an amazing 4 years with these 7 seniors at the banquet on March 15th. One of the most gifted groups of seniors I’ve ever seen and had the honor to work for.

slide 2: Tuscola

These dancers competed in the single-A pom category at IDTA State on February 9th.

slide 3: Bartlett

Holding their 3A 2nd place trophy up high thanks to an outstanding 2nd routine.

slide 4: Libertyville

Our latest Featured Team! I knew these athletes had fun personalities when I met them at practice earlier in the fall. This goofy moment is from the November 17th Fremd comp.

slide 5: Montini

Absolutely one of the state’s legendary pom programs, the Broncettes are shown celebrating their 1st place trophy for 1A at Rolling Meadows.

slide 6: Wauconda

These dancers excelled at their layered choreography all season, like during this moment at the December Warren competition.

slide 7: Kenwood

They have a proud arts and dance program at Kenwood Academy in Chicago, so it was great to see their talented dancers make the trip to Warren to share this modern jazz-infused hip hop routine.

slide 8: Downers Grove South

The DGS Fillies are often a staple at the Waubonsie Valley comp every December. One of those sneaky good teams that made the past season so impressive all around.

slide 9: Warren

The Devilettes show off their hardware from a productive day at the Stevenson comp (12/9).

slide 10: Lake Zurich

With 2 championships in a row executing an awesome hip hop routine, it’s easy to forget that LZ also knows their way around a pom routine!

slide 11: Streator soloist Edea Bruhns

A cool thing about IDTA is their soloist category. This clip comes from the IHSA / IDTA competition hosted by Maine East on January 6th.

slide 12: Gardner-South Wilmington

GSW shows off a cool visual principle in choreo: that toe touch, already very good, looks even bigger with the rest of the ensemble down on the floor. This moment is from their jazz routine at IDTA State on February 9th, where they’d finish 2nd in the single-A Jazz category.

slide 13: Hinsdale South

The Hornet Danceline shows that package of ice cream who’s boss as they wait out a rain delay at an August football game. Thanks goes out to South alum and 8CA staffer Paige for this pic!

slide 14: Dupo

These athletes competed in the hip hop and pom-dance categories at the end of winter break, January 5th, at Edwardsville’s IHSA/IDTA competition.

slide 15: Neuqua Valley JV

Up-and-coming NV dancers demonstrated their considerable skills at nearby Waubonsie Valley’s December 8th comp.
