Favorite memory of being on your team: IHSA State. We had the best energy before, during, and after at state. Everyone was so proud of ourselves and our performance and we felt like all the work had paid off. We also created such a strong bond as a varsity team this year which made the experience 10 times more special.

Any studios, dance teachers, or supporters you’d like to mention that helped you get to where you are today? My teacher Amber Kreis from my studio City Nation. She is so supportive, gives me confidence, always believes in all of her students, and reminds me to not be so hard on myself. And my poms coaches of course for pushing us past our comfort zones to get where we need to be.

Stuff you do when not dancing: I love to hang out with my friends and shop.

Coach’s notes: Alli has grown so much as a dancer and leader over the past three years in our program! Her attention to detail does not go unnoticed, and she is consistent in her execution of skills! Alli also brings a lightheartedness to practice that her teammates (and coaches!) love. She makes us laugh, and spreads positive energy around like confetti! Alli received her first All-Conference nomination this year, in addition to her first UDA All-American recognition! She is a three-time IHSA State Qualifier as well!

Jacksonville J’ettes / JR.

Years dancing: This will be my 14th year dancing

Is there a skill that you had to work extra hard to get? My front aerial!

Favorite style of dance to perform: My favorite style to perform is lyrical!

Favorite style of dance to watch: My favorite style to perform is pom!

Favorite memory of being on your team? There are so many memories but my favorite was the feeling of coming off the floor from competing with tears in everyone’s eyes because we knew we gave it our all. Then looking at our coaches and parents and seeing them cry because of how proud they were was the best feeling ever. I will forever cherish that moment.

Any studios, dance teachers, or supporters you’d like to mention that helped you get to where you are today? I would first like to mention Tiffany Hickox, my coach on the J’ette dance team. She pushed me so hard to get where I am today and I wouldn’t have been able to do it without her. She saw my potential and worked on getting me out of my shell. Sure enough, she did and I couldn’t be more thankful for that. Next I would like to mention Sara Roegge, my dance teacher from Sara’s Studio of Dance. I’ve been dancing for her since I was 3. I’ve grown up with her and she has shaped me to be the kind of dancer I am. Sara also helped me grow and has been there for me for so many years. I’m very thankful for the both of them.

Stuff you do when not dancing: I spend a lot of time dancing but when I don’t, I do a lot of school work including volunteer time for our national honor society. I also like to go to the gym and hang out with my friends.

Coach’s notes: Ella is a confident dancer that knows how to lead her team. This past year she was named one of the captains of our team and she did a tremendous job. She is very transparent with her high level of expectations. She leads by example and does it with such heart it makes it hard not to fall in line behind her. She makes school a top priority and she balances it with J’ettes with ease.

Triad Dance Team / SR.

Years dancing: 14

Favorite skill to perform: I love turning, but you can’t go wrong with just true movement.

Is there a skill that you had to work extra hard to get? I had to work extra hard to get any flexibility; I worked for it my whole dance career.

Favorite style of dance to perform: I love to perform contemporary…especially a piece that has a good meaning behind it, is hard hitting, and builds.

Favorite style of dance to watch: I love to watch any dance with high energy.

Favorite memory of being on your team? My favorite memory on the team has been overall my senior year. Our team was composed of so many amazing girls who have such a true passion for dance. Being able to grow with them throughout the season was amazing.

Any studios, dance teachers, or supporters you’d like to mention that helped you get to where you are today? I would not be where I am today without my coach Josie Moss. She had seen potential in me since I was little, and was always willing to work with me. I would also like to mention my fellow dancers from Studio E Dance, who make me love dance even more every time I am in the studio with them.

Stuff you do when not dancing: I like to spend most of my time not dancing outdoors with family and friends. I love to go hunting with my dad, and also to travel.

Coach’s notes: Holly is one of the hardest workers I have ever met! She is always thinking of ways to push her team and improve her dancing. She is the best motivator to her teammates and always is up for a challenge. She is such a force!

Favorite memory of being on your team? I loved all the memories we’ve created as a team this past season but my all time favorite would be being able to go to nationals in person. This is my favorite memory because we were able to bond even more as a dance family, and because it pushed our commitment in the dances to the next level since it was the last time our 2021-2022 team would be dancing together on a competition floor.

Any studios, dance teachers, or supporters you’d like to mention that helped you get to where you are today? I would like to mention my dance studio, Lincolnshire Academy of Dance and also my dance teacher Tiffany Krause for being my second mom and always pushing me to improve. I would also like to mention my two wonderful dance team coaches Coach P and Coach Mosch for creating a wonderful environment where I always feel supported and inspired. Lastly, I would like to thank all of my friends and family for always making me laugh and being there for me whenever I need it.

Any studios, dance teachers, or supporters you’d like to mention that helped you get to where you are today? I want to give a huge shout out to Dance Academy of Libertyville because I wouldn’t be the dancer or person I am without the guidance and support from all the faculty there. Another shout out to my coaches for the past 4 years, Casey Dugan and Ali Forsythe, because they continue to push me to be better every day and they always believe in me.

Stuff you do when not dancing: When I’m not dancing I like to play with my dogs or hang out with friends.

Coach’s notes: Sarah Wolter is a 4-year Varsity dance team member and Varsity Captain. Sarah’s leadership style is one that is driven by compassion and trust. Sarah cares deeply for her teammates on and off the floor. Sarah’s work ethic and drive is unmatched. She pushes herself to be better in all aspects of dance. Because of this, her skills were highlighted several times throughout our competitive routine in her turns, jumps, leaps and dance quality. Sarah brings a positive energy to every practice and welcomes changes that help improve the overall quality of our routine. She works to get 1% better every day and helps provide impactful feedback towards her teammates so they can reach their full potential. Sarah exemplifies our core values as a program and we are so proud of the way she has grown and led this program over the past 4 years. Under Sarah’s leadership, the LHS Dance team qualified for the IHSA State Finals where they placed 6th in State with choreography that she helped create. Sarah, thank you for your leadership, we are so proud of you!

Glenbard East Ramettes / JR.

Years dancing: I’ve been dancing for 6 years.

Favorite skill to perform: My favorite skill to perform is a firebird. This skill looks so cool because it pops so much when you jump up and looks so powerful.

Is there a skill that you had to work extra hard to get? A skill I’ve had to work very hard to get are my second turns. This is because I am not a trained dancer, so I had to teach myself how to do them. Over the past few years I have improved on these so much and now I am so happy with what I can do 🙂

Favorite style of dance to perform: My favorite style to perform is pom because it is sharp and the poms add a visual to the performance that makes the routine so much more exciting!

Favorite style of dance to watch: My favorite style of dance to watch is also pom for the same exact reason.

Favorite memory of being on your team: My favorite memory of being on my team was finding out how high we placed at a big competition. This was so exciting because it gave my team and me motivation to keep going and try even harder. My team was so happy that our hard work paid off; I remember getting on the bus to come home and everyone going crazy!!

Any studios, dance teachers, or supporters you’d like to mention that helped you get to where you are today? My biggest supporter has been my coach. Coach Courtney has helped me grow so much because she sees so much potential in me and it really motivates me! She has told me what to do to help my dance skills get better. Another person who has helped me is Ashley DeForest, the owner at DeForest Dance Company. I went to this studio for a few technique classes and before I tried out for my high school dance team, she told me what I needed to improve on. I would not be the dancer I am today if it weren’t for these two amazing women.

Stuff you do when not dancing: Something I do when I’m not dancing is singing. I love to sing and I am in choir at my school. I also love running; I do track at my school too and I am a sprinter. I love hanging out with my sister because we are so close to each other and have a blast when we are together.

Coach’s notes: Peyton has been one of the hardest workers and best performers throughout her time on the team. She is a sneaky powerhouse on the floor, and pushes our team not only to work hard but to love each other which has been the key to our success. We’d be lost without her!
