1ST TIME ON THE 8CA ALL-STATE DANCE TEAM
13 years!
My favorite dance team memory was winning sectionals because it was truly a shocking moment for our team. The whole week leading up to sectionals was the hardest we ever worked and we didn’t even think we would make top 6. That was truly one of the most rewarding experiences.
I am a very dedicated team member and I love being a leader in team-like environments. Our team is so close and we are all truly close friends. We share a tight bond and we always will even if it is not in a dance setting.
I would like to give a shoutout to my dance studio,Thrive Center for Dance, for training me to be the dancer I am today. I would also like to thank Coach Yarka because she has allowed me to be a part of this dance team while also letting me continue dancing at my studio. She is always willing to help me manage my schedule!
My favorite style to perform is hip hop because I feel like it is the style I can truly be my full self in. My favorite style to watch though is musical theatre or contemporary!!

Maria is a force to be reckoned with, she’s a dedicated worker and always gives a 110% no matter what she’s doing. She’s learned so many new skills and tricks just for the betterment of the team.
