MARION VARSITY DANCE TEAM (senior)
1ST TIME ON THE 8CA ALL-STATE DANCE TEAM
I have been dancing since the age of five, so for twelve years now.
Every season of being on my dance team has brought me memories that will last a lifetime. But comp season will always be the highlight of it all. Winning sectional championships two years in a row was a very memorable and amazing thing that my team accomplished. My team being the only kick team in our pool makes it difficult to compete against other teams with dances such as jazz, lyrical , and pom. But my team never used our style of dance as a crutch; we used it as motivation to work even harder. With hard work and perseverance we pushed through that barrier and won sectionals two years in a row. I am so proud of my team for beating the odds. That experience is something I will never forget.
My teammates and I all have very similar mindsets. We all work hard not just for ourselves, but for each other. We love to support each other in anyway we can. When one of our teammates is struggling it is always all hands on deck to help her. My team is full of gold and I am so proud to have been associated with such strong young women.
I want to thank everyone associated with the Marion dance team. Our team has such dedicated and amazing coaches who never fail to bring us to success. I am so blessed to have been on a team with such amazing young women. My teams are the most hard working and strong people that I will ever meet. My team has some of the best supporters around. Nothing matches the feeling of seeing that wave of blue and gold shirts in the stand right before walking onto the competition floor. Lastly I want to that all of the Marion dance team alumni. Each team every year stands on the shoulders of the girls who came before us. My team would not be where we are today without those women.
I absolutely love to watch all styles of dance. I love to preform jazz, lyrical, contemporary, pom, and kick.
I love to do photography when I am not dancing. I also find joy in cooking and baking in my free time.
Kyliegh is an incredible dancer who comes alive when she performs! She is fierce and fabulous.
