1ST TIME ON THE 8CA ALL-STATE DANCE TEAM
I have been dancing since November 2017
My favorite memory is actually waking up at 6 in the morning to practice. It was a good way to wake up and feel energized even if I was tired.
I’m a very shy person but when I dance, I dance. Our team is including everyone from grades 9-12 and we all get along well. We help each other out with technique and class work.
I shoutout to my favorite and one and only Coach Johnson. He was the only one that pushed us when we were giving up and tired. He was very hard on us but it was because he believed in us and wanted us to go further and teach states. We didn’t reach state sadly but that’s not going to stop the dance team in 2025!
I used to watch a ballet show in middle school and ever since that I would practice my spins. But my heart is dedicated to Hip-Hop.
What I like to do when I’m not dancing is literally laying down and be on my phone. But I’ll lay and watch dance videos obviously!
Shylah is a veritable tour de force that left us all breathless. Her mastery of movement is simply unparalleled, a testament of dedication and passion for the dance.
